It is the Bach Flower for anxiety and fear with a known cause. In other words, you are aware of the source of what frightens you or causes you anxiety. Mimulus fears are normal, everyday fears, fears of the dark, of public speaking, of exams, of aggressive dogs, or of illness and disease. Phobias, e.g. of spiders, heights, enclosed or crowded places are also Mimulus fears, as the cause of the fear can be named.
 
Mimulus is also used as a remedy for people who tend to be nervous, shy and reserved.
