5 stars supplier! Fast dispatch, well packed, fairly priced. It is the third time I am using this supplier. Before I used other suppliers, however, event including delivery to the Ireland, it is still the best offer in the market.

Description
How to use
Ingredients
- a soft silicone layer with Safetac technology that forms the contact surface with the lesion.
- an absorbent and flexible polyurethane foam pad containing a silver and activated charcoal compound.
- a vapour and water permeable film.
It contains silver sulphate, which, on contact with exudate, releases silver ions, creating an effective antibacterial barrier and inactivating a wide range of lesion-associated pathogens (bacteria and fungi), as observed in laboratory studies. By reducing the number of microorganisms, it also reduces odour.
It is able to inactivate lesion-related pathogens for up to 7 days.
Safetac is a patented soft silicone adhesive technology, which minimises the pain and trauma associated with dressing removal. It is less painful because:
- effectively adheres to dry surfaces, such as healthy skin, but not to moist surfaces, such as a wound bed.
- it fully conforms to the surface of the skin cells, covering a larger surface area of the skin, and spreading the adhesive force over a larger area. Thus, during removal of the dressing, the force exerted is more evenly distributed and no epithelial cell detachment occurs.
- seals the margins of the lesion, preventing exudate from accessing the perilesional skin, minimising maceration.
CE marked. ON: 0086. Class III, sterile.
INDICATIONS
Antimicrobial soft silicone foam dressing designed for the care of low-to-moderate exudate wounds such as leg and foot ulcers or pressure ulcers and burns of variable depth and surgical wounds where moist environment, exudate control, good fixation and antimicrobial action are required.
May be used on infected wounds as part of treatment under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
Can be used under compression bandages.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Local hygienic procedures should be used before and after changing bandages.
Clean the lesion with plenty of saline or water, according to standard clinical practice.
Dry the margins of the lesion thoroughly.
Remove the protective paper and place the adhesive side over the lesion. Do not apply pressure.
For best results, the dressing should extend at least 2 cm beyond the edge of the lesion. It can be cut to fit different shapes and locations.
If necessary, it can be secured with a bandage or other fixation.
It can be used for short periods of less than 2 weeks. For continued use, advice from a healthcare professional is recommended.
Mepilex Ag may be left on the lesion for up to 7 days, depending on the patient, the condition of the lesion and the perisional skin, or as directed by the physician.
Initially it may need to be changed more often as a result of the change in treatment due to the initial increase in exudate.

Directions for Use:
1. Follow local hygienic procedures before and after dressing changes. 2. Cleanse the wound thoroughly with saline solution or water, following standard clinical practice. 3. Ensure the periwound skin is completely dry. 4. Remove the protective release liner and apply the adhesive side of Mepilex Ag directly onto the wound. Avoid applying pressure. 5. For optimal results, allow the dressing to overlap the wound edges by at least 2 cm. Mepilex Ag can be cut to fit various wound shapes and locations. 6. If necessary, secure the dressing with a bandage or other appropriate fixation method.
Recommended Frequency:
Mepilex Ag can be left in place for up to 7 days. However, the frequency of dressing changes may vary depending on the patient's individual needs, the condition of the wound, the periwound skin, and the healthcare professional's recommendations. Initially, more frequent changes may be required due to increased exudate associated with the start of treatment.
Additional Tips:
1. For continued use beyond 2 weeks, consult a healthcare professional. 2. Mepilex Ag can be used under compression bandages. 3. For infected wounds, use Mepilex Ag as part of a treatment plan supervised by a qualified healthcare professional. 4. Observe the wound and periwound skin regularly for any signs of adverse reactions or complications.
