Instructions for Use:
1. Clean and dry the skin thoroughly around the area where the dressing will be applied. Ensure the skin is free from any creams, lotions, or oils.
2. Open the sterile packaging carefully, avoiding touching the adhesive surface of the dressing.
3. Peel the protective backing from the dressing.
4. Position the dressing over the wound or area requiring coverage, ensuring the central absorbent pad covers the wound completely if applicable.
5. Smooth the dressing firmly onto the skin, working from the center outwards to avoid wrinkles and ensure proper adhesion.
6. For securing drains, catheters, or cannulae, ensure the dressing is firmly adhered around the device, but not so tight as to restrict blood flow. 7. If using for showering or water activities, ensure the edges of the dressing are well sealed to prevent water from entering.
Recommended Frequency:
Change the dressing as needed, or as directed by a healthcare professional. This will depend on the condition being treated. Generally, dressings can be left in place for several days, unless they become soiled, wet, or lose their adhesion. For wounds, change the dressing as frequently as necessary to keep the wound clean and dry.
Additional Tips:
1. Do not stretch the dressing during application, as this can reduce its effectiveness and cause discomfort. 2. Avoid applying the dressing to broken or irritated skin. 3. If the dressing becomes wet, change it promptly to prevent skin maceration and potential infection. 4. If redness, irritation, or any other adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. 5. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
