How to use
First, on the patient side, the needle automatically retracts when withdrawn from the skin, with the added benefit of a red band as a confirmation indicator. Secondly, on the pen side, this time, protection is confirmed by the orange cap that covers the needle when unscrewed.

Instructions for Use:
1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. 2. Inspect the BD Insulin Needle Pen AutoShield Duo needle for any damage. Do not use if bent, broken, or damaged.
3. Remove the protective tab from the needle. 4. Attach the needle firmly to your insulin pen by twisting it clockwise until secure. 5. Prime your pen according to the manufacturer's instructions. 6. Select your prescribed dose of insulin on the pen. 7. Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab. 8. Insert the needle into the skin at the recommended angle and depth. 9. Inject the insulin by pressing the injection button completely. 10. Keep the needle inserted for at least 10 seconds after injecting to ensure the full dose is delivered.
11. Withdraw the needle from the skin. The needle will automatically retract and the red band will be visible, confirming patient-side safety. 12. Unscrew the needle from the pen. The orange cap will cover the needle, confirming pen-side safety. 13. Dispose of the used needle immediately in a sharps container.
Recommended Frequency:
Replace the needle after each injection. Do not reuse needles.
